We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Retail Events Coordinator to join our team at Michaels. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating events that provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Event Execution: Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
  • Communication and Administration: Communicate events with clients and store team members, complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events and uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Customer Experience: Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions, provide fast and friendly check out experience, and engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
Requirements
  • Experience: Retail and/or customer service experience required.
  • Skills: Excellent people skills, experience working with children and children's events, good communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to remain standing for long periods of time, ability to move throughout the store, regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching, lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
