In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for a group of software developers focused on the Withhold at Source System. This system is crucial for managing the accounting and reconciliation of withholding for various entities, including California real estate sellers, nonresident entertainers, independent contractors, partners, and beneficiaries.

Working Environment

This position offers the flexibility of remote work within California, subject to departmental policies and operational requirements. FTB mandates a minimum in-office presence of two days per week for all roles, including those eligible for telecommuting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing tools to effectively plan, schedule, and execute assigned tasks.
  • Developing and maintaining applications to address enhancement requests, maintenance tasks, and production incidents.
  • Generating and deploying code from testing environments to production at the conclusion of each release cycle.
  • Creating and updating various low-level design documentation to support enhancement and maintenance requests, as well as established processes.
  • Providing support to fellow development, analysis, testing, and production support teams.
  • Participating in meetings to discuss proposed legislation and offering insights on overall application direction.
  • Engaging in review sessions focused on different aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and production support.
