Position Overview
The role of Lead Marine Survey Specialist is essential for overseeing and executing necessary field tasks for survey projects, as directed by management or project-specific leaders, as well as field client representatives. This position is crucial in ensuring that client requirements are met efficiently and responsibly while adhering to established safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Support new and existing team members in executing their responsibilities in alignment with safety protocols.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among clients, crew members, and project managers.
- Conduct and document daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and safety pre-tower meetings.
- Oversee offshore operations, including personnel management, daily progress tracking, and asset utilization.
- Train and comply with OII, DOTD, or specific client requirements.
- Manage and execute specific job tasks as requested by clients or project managers.
- Adhere to company safety regulations, ensuring safe operations and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Safeguard company equipment and ensure its proper use.
- Provide training to fellow field personnel.
Non-Essential Functions
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position does not have direct reports but entails temporary supervisory responsibilities for the assigned crew in the field.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to Sr Party Chief/Party Chief - Service Excellence
- Collaborates with Project Manager - Survey & Positioning Solutions
- Works alongside Operations Manager - Service Excellence
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Surveyor II in the Marine Construction/Survey & Positioning field.
- Proficiency in various field concepts, practices, procedures, and equipment operations, including GPS, Navigation Software, USBL, and scanning sonar.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record that meets company standards.
- Possession or ability to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with major survey equipment manufacturer's software and tools.

- Stable work surfaces at elevated heights.
