Compensation:

Starting salary of $45, eligible for overtime, on-call stipends, and additional financial incentives.

Position Responsibilities:

Oversee and evaluate foster homes to ensure adherence to family-centered, inclusive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practices while ensuring compliance with licensing standards set by DCFS.

A Day in the Life of a Child Welfare Licensing Specialist:

  • Conduct home studies and provide training for foster parents, both individually and in groups
  • Carry out licensing investigations
  • Coordinate respite care for foster parents as necessary
  • Support caseworkers and staff in the placement and stability of children in foster care
  • Monitor foster homes to ensure compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations

Work Schedule: Flexible and non-traditional hours based on the needs of the families and youth served.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field
  • Experience in Child Welfare (preferred)
  • Child Welfare Licensure (preferred)

Additional Requirements:

  • Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Possess an insured vehicle
  • Minimum of three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
  • Successful completion of DCFS Foundations Training for Child Welfare Licensure
