Compensation:
Starting salary of $45,000, with eligibility for overtime pay, on-call stipends, and additional financial incentives.
Role Responsibilities:
Oversee and evaluate foster homes to ensure adherence to family-centered, inclusive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based parenting practices, while confirming compliance with licensing standards set by DCFS.
A Day in the Life of a Child Welfare Licensing Specialist:
- Conduct home studies and provide training sessions for foster parents, both individually and in groups.
- Carry out licensing investigations.
- Coordinate respite care for foster parents as necessary.
- Support caseworkers and staff in the placement and stability of children in foster care.
- Ensure foster care homes comply with all relevant agency, state, and federal licensing regulations.
Work Schedule: Flexible and non-traditional hours, accommodating the needs of youth and families served.
Are You the Right Fit?
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field.
- Experience in Child Welfare (preferred).
- Child Welfare Licensure (preferred).
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Possess an insured vehicle.
- A minimum of three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of DCFS Foundations Training for Child Welfare Licensure.
