Job Summary

As a key member of the Raymond James team, the Operations Supervisor will provide direction, leadership, and support to assigned departments in Operations. This role will implement business plans and ensure policies and procedures are followed, driving efficiency and productivity within the area. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of the different areas of Operations and will be responsible for monitoring productivity and service levels using various reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-site peers and managers to establish performance goals for departments; collaborate with and direct associates to meet or exceed these goals.
  • Act as an information source for associates and ensure training and development occurs.
  • Plan, assign, monitor, review, evaluate, and lead the work of associates.
  • Oversee team morale and plan for appropriate team-building activities, rewards, and recognition.
  • Handle performance management, including career development and progressive discipline of direct reports.
  • Interview and hire associates who possess the core competencies of the position to strengthen the department and mitigate turnover.
  • Work in cooperation with peers to establish objectives and develop processes and procedures to ensure efficient and timely workflow, with special regard to service delivery, compliance, and risk factors for the firm.
  • Establish internal or external partnership opportunities, through analysis of business needs and relationships that may enhance success.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and departmental tools are created and/or maintained (job procedures, job aids, forms, training material, etc).
  • Facilitate the implementation and acceptance of organizational change; address resistance to change and help individuals adapt.
  • Take decisive action when necessary and convey a sense of urgency to deliver results.
  • Interpret and apply organizational policies and procedures.
  • Effectively collaborate with other supervisors in the same or different functional groups to accomplish assigned goals and process/policy changes; often, this collaboration occurs across multiple sites.
  • Adhere to annual budgets in line with organizational goals and objectives and make adjustments when necessary.
  • Effectively implement system changes and identify and manage impacts to teams and advisors.
