As a Support Service Provider II, you will play a vital role in providing essential supports to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, enabling them to access and navigate their community with independence and confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visual and environmental information to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, facilitating their access to community resources and services.
- Offer travel supports, including human guide assistance and transportation, to ensure safe and accessible movement within the community.
- May drive agency, agency-rented, or personal vehicles on company business, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Associate Degree or post-secondary education; or High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of directly-related experience.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds 15% of the time.
- Basic computer and typing skills.
- Basic knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL).
- Bachelor Degree.
- Prior experience in providing services and support to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing.
- Prior experience in providing services and supports to individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with assistive technology (AT), assistive listening, and/or other technologies to support individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, or Low Vision.
- Knowledge of uncontracted or contracted Braille.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Ability to use the communication systems preferred by individuals who are Deaf-Blind (e.g., ASL, Signed English, Spoken English, writing, large print, and/or Braille).
- Ability to communicate in Signed English.
- Ability to communicate in Tactile ASL.
