Job Title: Support Service Provider III

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Service Provider III to join our team. As a Support Service Provider III, you will play a critical role in providing essential supports to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, enabling them to access and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visual and environmental information to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, ensuring their independence and access to the community.
  • Offer travel supports, including human guide support and transportation, to facilitate safe access to the community.
  • May drive agency, agency-rented, and/or personal vehicles on company business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation, Social Work, Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience working with individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, and/or Low Vision.
  • Sign language skills in American Sign Language, Manually Coded English, and/or English and/or Uncontracted Braille and/or in other communication modes used by individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds 15% of the time.
  • Basic computer and typing skills.
Regulatory Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer-paid).
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen (includes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer-paid).
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience providing services and support to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing.
  • Prior experience providing services and supports to individuals with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with the use of assistive technology (AT), assistive listening, and/or other technologies to support individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, or Low Vision.
  • Knowledge of uncontracted or contracted Braille.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Ability to use the communication systems preferred by individuals who are Deaf-Blind (e.g., ASL, Signed English, Spoken English, writing, large print, and/or Braille).
  • Ability to communicate in Signed English.
  • Ability to communicate in Tactile ASL.
