Construction Project Leader

We are looking for a skilled Construction Project Leader to become part of our organization, focusing on underground utility initiatives associated with water and sewer systems. This role involves managing both commercial and municipal projects, guiding a team of project coordinators through the phases of planning, execution, and successful completion. As a vital member of our leadership team, the Construction Project Leader will significantly contribute to the advancement and success of Apex Plumbing Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the Senior Project Manager and team daily to strategize, implement, and finalize projects, which includes scheduling, resource management, and documentation.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets, while monitoring progress and maintaining comprehensive project records.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, team members, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain quality assurance by conducting quality control checks and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with Apex and municipal standards and specifications during all field activities.
  • Support tracking of project expenditures, review financial reports, and provide recommendations for cost control.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Identify and evaluate project risks and challenges, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, safety, and adherence to project plans.
  • Supervise and mentor field teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Identify training, equipment, and resource needs, communicating these to the Project Manager.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of the project closeout process.
  • Address customer service concerns and complaints as necessary.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned to support the effective management of projects.
  • Assist in maintaining progress payments for various project types.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced understanding of construction principles and practices is preferred.
  • Experience in managing field personnel and building client relationships.
  • Proven track record of excellence in jobsite safety.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while coordinating multiple activities and groups to achieve optimal efficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and effectively perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.
  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
