Position Overview

The Superintendent will oversee the construction project, ensuring its successful completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute all essential duties of the Assistant Superintendent/Project Engineer.
  • Participate in Safety Training Programs and enforce safety protocols.
  • Verify subcontractor insurance certificates.
  • Prepare and manage the CPM job schedule.
  • Build trust with Owners and Architects.
  • Recruit, organize, train, and lead the field construction team, including subcontractors.
  • Ensure work quality by establishing quality control standards.
  • Order materials and tools, planning supply distribution to prevent urgent purchasing.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, including time sheets, work orders, daily reports, and invoice approvals.
  • Timely completion of punchlists.
  • Review all project drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submissions.
  • Chair or attend pre-job conferences and regular subcontractor meetings.
  • Conduct start-up testing and facilitate turnover to the Owner.
  • Document final project close-out and Owner acceptance.
  • Perform manual tasks only in exceptional circumstances when necessary.
  • Travel as required by management.
  • Supervise multiple projects across a broad geographic area as needed.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent experience (4 years as Assistant Superintendent).
  • Extensive supervisory experience in field construction.
  • Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification, or ability to achieve STS Certification within six months of hire.
  • Working knowledge of all construction trades and prior experience as a foreman or journeyman in at least one trade, or as a project engineer.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Understanding of job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency.
