Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager for Retail Operations will embody Goodwill's Core Values of Respect, Excellence, and Integrity. This role is pivotal in driving store sales through various operational tasks including inspecting, tagging, and organizing donations, managing cash transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open and close the store as a key holder.
  • Oversee daily operations and supervise hourly retail staff in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both donors and shoppers.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating adherence to Goodwill's values.
  • Exhibit goal-oriented leadership and exercise sound judgment in escalating issues to management.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to train new employees and support staff in achieving production and sales targets.
  • Communicate job tasks clearly to employees and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring customer service standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures regarding stock and sales.
  • Demonstrate openness to new ideas and maintain enthusiasm for responsibilities.
  • Utilize organizational tools such as calendars and to-do lists to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Handle daily cash deposits and reconciliations in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Prepare documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate's Degree in a business-related field is preferred. A minimum of one year of retail sales experience in a leadership capacity is necessary. A valid driver's license and insurance are also required.

Compensation:

Hourly pay range: $15.00, dependent on store level and applicant experience.
