Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Academic Advising and Student Success is a key member of the University of Pittsburgh's College of Business Administration team. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Advising team in the Tafel Center for Student Success. The incumbent will supervise a subset of academic advisors who have business functional area portfolios and execute the business student development strategy developed by the Director of the Tafel Center for Student Success and the CBA Associate Dean.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor academic advisors to ensure effective academic counseling and personal and professional development for students.
  • Develop and implement student support systems to identify and assess unique student needs and work with students to implement successful strategies for program completion.
  • Collaborate with the Career Development team to ensure synergistic delivery of services to students.
  • Work closely with the Director of International Programs to align advising practices and promote study abroad and other globalization experiences.
  • Address difficult situations involving students in consultation with the Director of the Tafel Center for Student Success and Associate Dean.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in higher education administration, including advising experience.
Work Environment

This is a full-time regular position with a standard work schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. The University of Pittsburgh is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
