About the Role

The Association-American Cancer Institute is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Operations and Administration to join our team. This is a pivotal role that will oversee and ensure the smooth operation of various administrative functions, including human resources, staff and faculty recruitment, onboarding, finances, systems development and data analytics, IT, AV, space planning, and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources Management: Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and employee relations. Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with the Institute's strategic goals.
  • Faculty Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee all faculty recruitment and onboarding functions, including hiring, onboarding, visits, and packages. Collaborate with the Director of Faculty Recruitment, department heads, and the Director of Finance on developing competitive offer letters, start-up packages, and MOUs.
  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations including budget preparation, strategic planning, reconciliations, purchasing, and reporting. Work with the Director of Budget in the development and management of the annual budget.
  • Systems Development and Data Analytics: Oversee the development and implementation of systems to enhance operational efficiency across all units within the Institute. Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and improve organizational performance.
  • Information Technology (IT) and Audio-Visual (AV) Management: Oversee all IT functions including purchasing, inventory, telecom, and copy machine management. Work with the Director of IT to ensure the effective operation of IT and AV systems.
  • Space Planning and Facilities Management: Manage space planning and allocation to meet the needs of the Institute. Oversee facilities operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and supportive environment.
  • Culture, Efficiency, and Cost Savings: Work closely with the directors of each unit to foster a positive organizational culture. Identify and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and achieve cost savings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, preferably within an NCI designated cancer center or academic setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, financial management, IT systems, and facilities management.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff and faculty recruitment and onboarding.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
