Job Summary

The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Member Services Representative. This role is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and visitors, ensuring a positive and professional experience at our Family Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Access Control: Ensure secure access to the building by checking in members and program participants, verifying membership cards or collecting guest fees as required.
  • Membership Promotion: Conduct interviews and tours to promote membership and encourage individuals to join our community.
  • Customer Service: Provide courteous and efficient assistance to members and customers, meeting and greeting them in a positive and professional manner.
  • Communication: Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Data Entry: Enter membership and program enrollment data into our technology systems, print receipts, and distribute them to members and program participants.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of the association by enforcing policies regarding visitors and maintaining a visitor log.
  • Information Provision: Provide membership and program information to walk-in and phone-in customers, answering their questions and addressing their concerns.
  • Administrative Support: Assist the Membership Director and perform miscellaneous tasks as directed, including routine filing and posting rosters.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and professional appearance for yourself and the facility, promoting a positive image of the YMCA.
  • Representation: Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA of Central Florida in the Family Center and its programs.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One year of YMCA experience preferred, as well as one year of customer service experience.
  • Skills: Demonstrated computer knowledge and data entry skills, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Schedule: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • On-Call Schedule: Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required.
  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Physical Demands: The physical activities of this position include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Required to sit or stand for extended periods, with close visual acuity and auditory and verbal capabilities to communicate effectively.
