POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the Cashier/Host(ess) warmly greets and seats all patrons of the dining establishment in a polite and friendly manner, while also handling cash transactions efficiently.




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Delivers outstanding customer service by consistently "Exceeding Expectations One Opportunity at a Time".
  • Ensures swift and courteous service to all patrons of the venue.
  • Welcomes guests with a friendly demeanor, guides them to their tables, and presents menus.
  • Processes payments from customers.
  • Records all transactions in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Maintains an accurate and tidy display of the buffet and/or specials board.
  • Prepares and wraps silverware to the required standard, along with other assigned tasks.
  • Guarantees that guests receive prompt service consistently.
  • Takes responsibility for reconciling all transactions at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Responds promptly to room service requests and To Go orders, ensuring all billing is settled through the POS system immediately.
  • Assists colleagues in the restaurant as needed and fosters a cooperative work environment.
  • Adheres to daily policies and procedures for the Food & Beverage Department and Bay Mills Indian Community.
  • Participates in all mandatory training sessions as designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Manager.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned within the scope of this position's essential functions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


While performing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand for extended periods.

The employee must be able to bend, squat, climb, crouch, kneel, and push/pull.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds, while frequently lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 35 pounds.

The employee is regularly exposed to dust and cold conditions when working in the freezer and coolers. The employee may also encounter moderate noise, heat, and cold environments. There is a potential for minor injuries such as cuts, burns, sprains, and strains.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least seventeen (17) years of age.
  • Six months of experience in a cashiering role is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a customer service position is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential.
  • This is a fast-paced customer service role; cash handling knowledge is required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, with prior experience using a POS system being advantageous.
  • To excel in this position, an individual must be able to effectively perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this job description.
  • A strong past work record, including attendance, is essential.
