School Bus Driver Job Description

North Carolina Jobs is seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to join our team. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from school safely and efficiently.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement. We are looking for an individual who can maintain order and discipline of students assigned to the school bus, while also adhering to all Federal Laws, State Laws, and Local Rules, Regulations, and Policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving and Safety: Drive a school bus safely and professionally, adhering to all Federal Laws, State Laws, and Local Rules, Regulations, and Policies.
  • Student Management: Maintain order and discipline of students assigned to the school bus.
  • Maintenance and Inspection: Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain logs and complete reports as requested.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training and workshops to improve driving skills and knowledge of school bus operations.

Requirements:

  • Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent, Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement.
  • Skills: Excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, patient demeanor.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
