Job Summary:

The Manager, Accounting will assist with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. The duties of this position will require the ability to handle heavy volumes of transactions and activity related to 38,000+ single-family rental homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including management of the monthly close calendar.
  • Assist with the annual audit process, including responding to audit inquiries, preparation or review of requested schedules, testing of internal controls, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations.
  • Develop or assist with process improvements.
  • Development and maintenance of proper internal controls.
  • Prepare analytical financial reports to assist with month-end budget and variance analysis.
  • Lead and develop a team of staff accountants.
  • Ensure appropriate accruals are recorded monthly.
  • Assist in reviewing/approving/posting journal entries.
  • Oversee general ledger analysis.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
  • Activate/Deactivate sold properties for AP and journal entries.
  • Work with executive/senior management on special projects.
  • Perform back-up duties as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
  • 8+ years related experience, preferably in a property management/real estate/construction setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required.
  • Knowledge of Yardi would be a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; proficient in other Microsoft Office programs.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $175,550.00
