Job Summary:

The Sanitation Technician I is a key member of the Dole Packaged Foods team, responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize all processing equipment, floors, walls, pipes, trash receptacles, drains, and grounds to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment to maintain its integrity and ensure proper functioning.
  • Mix chemicals per label instructions and use them to clean and sanitize equipment.
  • Lift/move hoses, equipment, and chemical containers throughout the work shift.
  • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
  • Utilize company resources in a safe and effective manner.
  • Abide by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Work Rules, Safety Rules, and Attendance Rules.
  • Immediately report any accidents, malfunctions of processing equipment, or safety hazards.
  • Work around moving equipment with cleaning chemicals in the plant.
  • Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Follow verbal and written directions.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Assist others in their areas as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Detail-oriented and safety-conscious individual.
  • Ability to use ladders and other required tools needed to perform the job.
  • Ability to work any shift, any day of the week, as assigned, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug screen and background check.
  • High School or equivalent preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit for 8+ hours/shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, kneel, and turn throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment with an average temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work on concrete work surfaces.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to hold a high-pressure hose for long periods.
  • Ability to work with chemicals.
  • Ability to wear a respirator (if needed) and pass a Respirator Fitness Test.
  • Ability to work in a wet environment.
