About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Professional to join our team in Washington, DC. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to support our clients' goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify key messaging opportunities and develop compelling content for various audiences and formats.
  • Content Development: Develop high-quality, engaging content for blogs, web copy, social media, printed collateral, and interactive digital products.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and leadership to gather information and develop non-technical articles for public-facing websites.
  • Talking Points and Remarks: Research and prepare talking points and long-form remarks for senior executives to deliver at internal and external speaking opportunities.
  • Social Media Experience: Plan and execute social media campaigns, gather and present metrics to measure campaign effectiveness.
  • Document Editing: Edit technical and non-technical documents for grammar, tone, and proper branding.
  • Communications Planning: Assist with ongoing strategic communications planning initiatives and develop tailored communications plans for targeted audiences.
  • Video Script Development: Draft video scripts on key mission and technical areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 8-10 years' experience in strategic communications.
  • 2+ years' experience providing support to senior executives in a large, corporate environment.
  • 1+ years' experience with social media.
  • Strong writing, editing, and strategic communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Ability to Obtain Public Trust/Secret if required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
  • Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record), and drug screen.

Location

The position will primarily work onsite at the DHS Headquarters Facility in Washington, DC.
