About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the development of our programs, memberships, volunteers/staff, and activities at the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement annual objectives for the YMCA Branch as part of the Association's strategic plan.
  • Financial Management: Develop, monitor, forecast, and effectively manage the annual branch operating budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Program Development: Work with staff to develop and implement the program plan for the branch to meet YMCA objectives and adhere to state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations.
  • Membership Development: Work with staff to develop and implement the membership plan, including developing membership sales and retention goals, for the branch.
  • Annual Campaign: Lead and conduct a successful Annual Campaign to achieve the pre-campaign agreed-upon goal.
  • Staff Management: Select, train, lead, coach, evaluate, develop, and motivate Branch staff and volunteers.
  • Inclusive Work Environment: Foster an inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborations: Develop and work successfully with collaborative partners.
  • Community Outreach: Promote and advocate for the work of the Y within the community in accordance with Association/Branch strategic and operating plans.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, develop, and lead the volunteer structure of the branch, including an active volunteer Board of Advisors.
  • Facility Management: Oversee the management of a clean and sanitary, safe, and well-maintained facility that meets all state and local licensing requirements.
  • Marketing and Communication: Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure maintenance of accurate records for the branch related to programs, facility, and staff.
  • Incident Reporting: Communicate to the Vice President of Operations any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
  • Committee Leadership: Lead goal setting and achievement of outcomes of program task teams, and other assigned committees, of the Association.
  • Staff Meetings: Hold effective staff meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Certifications: CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen within 60 days of hire and kept current.
  • Experience: Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit agency.
  • Skills: Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Volunteer Development: Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  • Fundraising: Proven track record in fundraising along with community and partner development.
  • Program Planning: Solid experience in program planning and membership development required.
  • Collaborations: Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Certifications: YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
