We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to join our team at the Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the Center's facilities management program, building maintenance, construction projects, and equipment upgrades.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management: Coordinate and supervise the Center's facilities management program, including maintenance, repair, and modification of equipment, electrical and electronic systems, and mechanical devices.
- Project Management: Oversee the development of predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs, including maintenance check sheets, predictive maintenance techniques, and related facilities analyses.
- Consultation and Advice: Provide advice and consultation to other Center personnel regarding facilities management matters, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Project Execution: Assist in the preparation of budgets for maintenance projects, oversee project execution, resolve complex work problems, recommend contract change orders, prepare progress reports, and review invoices for authorization of payment.
- Construction and Renovation: Direct new construction and renovation projects, including interpreting needs of staff, assisting in the design of areas for functionality and optimal space use, supervision of contractors, and working with state and local authorities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Equipment and Maintenance Standards: Recommend work equipment and maintenance standards, procedures, and performance criteria for ongoing planned activities, and help define training needs for maintenance and operations personnel.
- Inspections and Reports: Oversee and manage all on-site inspections, assist inspectors and surveyors, and provide reports as required in follow-up to surveys, inspections, and audits.
- Space Utilization and Resource Management: Assess and communicate recommendations for utilization of space, space needs, equipment, personnel, and other resources to meet the Center's needs.
- Transportation and Safety: Drive patients to other Center sites and ensure center sidewalks and entrances are kept free of ice and snow during the winter and free of debris at all times.
- Employee Management: Participate in the interviewing and hiring of new staff, schedule, prioritize, assign, and review work, approve time off for payroll purposes, and prepare employee performance evaluations annually.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or certification preferred, high school diploma/GED or extensive experience as a handyman, 5 years minimum experience in facilities operations management, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Skills and Qualifications: Valid NYS driver's license with less than 4 points and satisfactory status, at least one year of experience working in a similar capacity, experience in construction a plus, basic computer skills, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and mechanical knowledge, custodial and maintenance skills.
- Other Related Skills/Experience: Computer proficiency, professionalism skills, flexible scheduling may be required, including weekend or evening hours, clean NYS driver's license, and local travel between sites may also be required.
