Responsibilities

Drees Homes is looking for candidates for the role of Production Assistant - Accounts Payable within our Houston Division. This role involves managing accounts payable tasks and providing administrative and clerical support to the Operations and Production Departments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process all invoices related to construction, marketing, and general office expenses promptly.
  • Assist in the monthly review of division payables by generating relevant ledgers, retrieving files, and highlighting invoices for the current month.
  • Maintain a log of Change Orders and assign selected vendors for effective communication within the workflow system.
  • Issue requests to cancel or stop services with applicable utility companies for all completed homes.
  • Review the FPO Integrity Report weekly to identify items requiring expedited payment processing.
  • Upload all relevant documents for change orders to Job Docs in DreesBridge.
  • Provide assistance to other departments as directed and approved by the Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or billing is required.
  • Experience in a production building environment is advantageous.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel; experience with JDE is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with homebuilding or subcontractor processes is beneficial.
  • A high school diploma is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with additional hours as needed.
