Job Summary

The Assistant Wellness Director (or Clinical Services Director) will provide nursing care to residents in Memory Care community through assessment, planning implementations and reevaluation of resident needs. The ideal candidate will assist in managing clinical team by directing employees to provide a service that is in line with company's vision: Protect, Engage, and Love people with memory loss.

Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Care Planning: Assess resident needs, and provide necessary nursing care as per resident's care plan.
  2. Supervision and Management: Manage QMAPs and Resident Assistants by carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems, possess the authority to hire and terminate employment with accordance of HR established policy and process.
  3. Resident Rights and Safety: Ensures that resident rights are maintained.
  4. Medication Administration: Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and per physician orders.
  5. Nursing Documentation: Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients upon admission;
  6. Complaint Resolution: Handles resident, family, or physician complaints/concerns, referring issues to Clinical Services Director as necessary.
  7. End-of-Life Care: Respects advance directives and assists residents to a dignified death; and provides emotional and spiritual support to family and other staff as needed.
  8. Emergency Response: Responds to life threatening situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  9. Performance Improvement: Participates in department and/or unit performance improvement activities.
  10. Training and Development: Attends in-service training programs for department specific and other relevant programs, i.e., safety, infection control, orientation, etc., as scheduled.
Requirements
  1. Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in a senior living community; a minimum of one year of experience in a management/supervisory position or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  2. Certifications: A current and valid Nursing License, First Aid and CPR certification, Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, as required by law.
