Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nursing Department Director to lead our Memory Care Unit. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities- Care Delivery Systems
- Participate in the development and evaluation of care delivery systems to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Nursing Department Goals
- Establish and support implementation of clinical goals and mechanisms to address departmental and nursing unit needs and deficiencies.
- Develop management goals for the Nursing Department based on assessed departmental needs and deficiencies.
- Staff Supervision
- Supervise personnel and related personnel functions to improve service levels with respect to hiring, training, discipline, performance evaluation, grievance resolution, staffing levels, accountability for performance, and other related personnel functions.
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other nursing leadership in the development of and presentation of proposals concerning issues in the delivery of care, which affects the Nursing Department and other departments.
- Quality Improvement
- Monitor general and care-specific standards and recommend corrections for problems identified.
- Resident Care
- Evaluate resident care needs and assure that staffing requirements are met.
- Medicare Reimbursement
- Determine Medicare Part A qualifications for residents.
- Complete the Medical Review Questionnaire (MR) to be submitted for Medicare reimbursement.
- Complete appeals for reversal of denials to the fiscal intermediary.
- A nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing or practical nursing, depending on state regulations governing the facility.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse according to the state Regulations governing the facility.
- One year experience supervising healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions, and to prepare and maintain records, charts, and reports.
- Ability to apply nursing techniques as directed by physicians.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
- Ability not to pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Ability to meet the general health requirements set forth by the guidelines of the facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of three feet and be able to push, pull, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of three feet.
This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, accident, critical illness, disability, hospital, ID protect, life, 401(k), PTO, and holiday pay.
