Job Summary:

Insight Global is seeking a skilled Materials Engineering Technician to join their team in Arden, NC. The ideal candidate will perform regular testing, observation, and inspection of construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field testing and observation of construction projects, including concrete and asphalt testing.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor fill placements, soil placements, and concrete cylinder testing.
  • Transport material samples for further testing and analysis.
  • Complete digital reports of findings and maintain accurate laboratory data entry.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to pass a drug and background check.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a client-facing role.
  • Prior experience with field/lab testing, including concrete and asphalt testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACI/SCDOT/Earthwork Certifications or ICC certification.

Work Environment:

The Materials Engineering Technician will work on a single project site or rotate between multiple project sites within a 20-35 minute radius of the Asheville/Arden area. The company provides a vehicle for commute and pays for time spent in the vehicle. The technician will work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional night work and Saturdays (weather dependent).
