We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at San Francisco Health Plan. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a critical role in aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnership: Formulate business partnerships to deliver value-added service to leadership and employees that reflects the business objectives of San Francisco Health Plan.
  • Business Acumen: Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, strategic plans, culture, and competition.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for designated departments regarding HR issues, conduct weekly meetings with respective business units, and consult with leadership to provide HR guidance.
  • Trend Analysis: Analyze trends and metrics in partnership to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, and maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.
  • Performance Management: Provide day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs for assigned business units, participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs, and collaborate with the Learning and Development team to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Benefits Administration: Partner with the HR Operations team on benefit plan education and communication to staff and leadership.
  • Policy Administration: Administer SFHP HR policies, practices, and procedures for employees and leadership.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assist the HR Operations team with performance management programs, annual performance evaluation, and salary review process.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues, 3 or more years of human resources generalist/analyst experience, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws governing employment, wage and hour, and leaves of absence.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant area such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in health plans, healthcare, and/or health insurance environments, benefits administration, and compensation systems.
