New Story School is a progressive educational institution that implements the DIRFloortime approach, a relationship-focused teaching methodology created by Dr. Stanley Greenspan. We are currently expanding our services and are looking for dedicated Speech Language Pathologists to support students aged 3 to 21 who experience neurodevelopmental challenges in communication, social interaction, and cognitive processing. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be pivotal in fostering our students' growth, crafting individualized treatment plans, and setting objectives to enhance their learning capabilities.

COMPENSATION
Salary range is competitive and based on qualifications and experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide specialized speech therapy services to students with unique needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive pediatric speech evaluations to assess language skills, articulation, and oral motor functions.
  • Document assessments and create reports outlining student needs and suggested therapeutic strategies.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions targeting specific language and communication challenges.
  • Train educational staff on effective speech therapy techniques and their integration into classroom instruction.
  • Oversee the implementation of speech therapy strategies by educational personnel and assess the effectiveness of the program.
  • Engage in professional development through ongoing training and educational opportunities.
  • Participate in collaborative team meetings and contribute to staff training sessions.
  • Present case studies to the staff biannually, demonstrating the incorporation of language goals within the DIR framework.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Valid license to practice Speech Language Pathology.
  • Certification in TSHH/TSSLD.
  • Familiarity with the DIRFloortime model is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to build and maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
