Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled General Foreman with substantial construction experience. This role entails overseeing multiple large crews, acting as the primary leader in the field, and frequently liaising with General Contractors and Owners to ensure that our standards are not only met but exceeded. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of mechanical construction and installation processes.
  • Engage actively in the company's safety culture, promoting an injury-free environment through personal commitment and mentoring.
  • Utilize tools effectively to complete assigned project tasks.
  • Monitor and report on labor hours and production units, including the completion of timecards.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and availability of tools and equipment necessary for project-specific production.
  • Lead and enforce safety and security protocols within the crew.
  • Understand and achieve production targets for the crew.
  • Determine appropriate crew sizes to align with production objectives.
  • Document critical information such as activities, production metrics, and crew configurations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials to the job site.
  • Maintain established quality standards related to job responsibilities.
  • Facilitate coordination of other trades associated with the assigned scope of work.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, including toolbox talks and job hazard analyses.
  • Interpret and comprehend plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Provide on-the-job training and share expertise to foster team member development.
  • Coordinate inspections related to the assigned scope of work.
  • Document and update punch lists as necessary.
  • Oversee daily production activities of field crews.
  • Interpret blueprints and execute construction accordingly.
  • Exemplify leadership qualities to guide others.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage subcontractor crews for specific project segments or smaller projects.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop project schedules and ensure adherence to plans.
  • Train Foremen on essential skills such as pre-planning, plan interpretation, productivity, and safety.
  • Establish, communicate, and monitor crew production goals.
  • Coordinate efforts among larger crews and other trade foremen, potentially overseeing multiple crews.
  • Plan preconstruction activities, including crew size, scheduling, and material logistics.
  • Manage all aspects of construction project resources, both internal and external.
  • Develop and implement safety plans, ensuring compliance through training and communication.
  • Control production costs by understanding various project management variables.
  • Support quality assurance and control measures for assigned tasks.

Supervisory and Communication Responsibilities:

  • Directly lead construction crews.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: Vocational/Technical degree in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role in the field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
