Pittman Construction is seeking a skilled and experienced Asphalt Milling Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing road surfaces for resurfacing projects.

As an Asphalt Milling Machine Operator, your primary responsibility will be operating the milling machine to effectively remove existing asphalt layers. You will also be responsible for performing daily maintenance checks on the equipment, reporting any mechanical or safety concerns, and potentially making minor repairs.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper installation and removal of auto electronics related to the milling machine.
  • Manage the addition and removal of teeth on the milling machine as needed.
  • Lubricate and grease components to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Thoroughly clean excess millings from the machine after each operation.
  • Continuously check and maintain the grade during milling operations.
  • Operate various construction equipment, including rollers, power brooms, and skid steer loaders, as required for project completion.
  • Drive trucks to transport materials and equipment as needed, contributing to overall site efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the machine to identify potential safety hazards and ensure a secure working environment.
  • Maintain professional communication and positive relationships with fellow team members.
Requirements:
  • Possess the physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift over 50 lbs., and operate vehicles safely.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of milling machines and road construction techniques.
  • Exhibit proficiency in operating equipment safely and efficiently to achieve project goals.
  • Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project schedules.
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years of experience operating milling machines and working in road construction environments.
