Position Summary:
The role of the General Construction Lead is pivotal in overseeing large teams on-site, ensuring that all operations align with project goals and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
1. Possess a comprehensive understanding of mechanical construction and installation processes.
2. Actively engage in promoting a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to protocols that foster an injury-free workplace.
3. Utilize tools and equipment effectively to complete designated tasks on-site.
4. Monitor and report on labor hours and production metrics, ensuring accurate documentation.
5. Maintain an organized inventory of tools and equipment to support project needs.
6. Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with security measures within the team.
7. Set and achieve production targets for crew performance.
8. Document and communicate essential information regarding project activities and crew dynamics.
9. Coordinate with suppliers to manage the timely delivery of materials to the job site.
10. Ensure quality standards are met throughout the construction process.
11. Facilitate inspections and maintain documentation for all assigned tasks.
12. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional development.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Manage subcontractor teams for specific project segments.
2. Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and adhere to project schedules.
3. Train team members on effective planning, productivity, and safety practices.
4. Oversee resource allocation for larger crews and coordinate with other trade leads.
5. Implement and enforce safety plans, ensuring all team members are trained and informed.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical degree preferred.
2. 5-7 years of experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
3. Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with construction management software.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.
