This role is for a Construction Supervisor who will lead a team in the field, ensuring alignment with the expectations of General Contractors (GC) and project owners. Candidates should be capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a deep understanding of mechanical construction and installation processes.
  • Actively engage in and promote the company's safety culture, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining an injury-free workplace through personal actions and mentoring others.
  • Utilize tools effectively to accomplish designated tasks on various projects.
  • Monitor and report on labor hours and project units, including the completion and submission of timecards.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and availability of tools and equipment necessary for project-specific production.
  • Operate independently while occasionally seeking guidance from the Truck Foreman.
  • Oversee safety and security protocols within the team.
  • Understand and achieve production targets for the crew.
  • Determine appropriate crew sizes to meet production objectives.
  • Document essential information such as activities, production metrics, and crew configurations.
  • Communicate with suppliers and coordinate the delivery of materials to the job site.
  • Maintain established quality standards related to job responsibilities.
  • Coordinate other trades' work associated with the designated scope.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, including toolbox talks and job hazard analyses.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and coordination drawings.
  • Provide on-the-job training and share expertise to support team member development.
  • Coordinate inspections for the assigned scope of work.
  • Participate in and update punch lists as necessary.
  • Manage field crews in the daily execution of projects.
  • Interpret blueprints and execute construction accordingly.
  • Lead by example and provide guidance to team members.
Supervisory and Communication Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for managing a construction crew, typically consisting of more than three employees.
  • Projects generally have a budget of less than $100,000.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform tasks accurately, completely, and promptly.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of organizational structures and available resources.
  • Familiarity with Lean processes and philosophies.
  • Knowledge of self-performance and labor productivity metrics.
  • Understanding of specific trades and scopes of work.
  • Awareness of construction management techniques and methods.
  • Intermediate layout skills.
  • Knowledge of crane flagging and rigging practices.
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with productivity rates.
  • Capability to assess and enhance project productivity.
  • Leadership skills to guide crews towards achieving production goals.
  • Ability to foster relationships and collaborate effectively within a team.
Experience and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Vocational/Technical degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within the field.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed during job duties.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
