Role Summary

The Human Resource (HR) Business Partner will serve as a key collaborator and service-oriented ally, managing the daily operations of the HR department for designated business units comprising 50 to 150 staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management to grasp business objectives and strategies.
  • Administer all daily HR functions, including but not limited to total rewards, talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention, leave management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, performance management, productivity enhancement, workforce planning, safety protocols, and training initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, consultation, and support to employees and supervisors throughout the entire HR lifecycle.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador, promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Encourage a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, track, and document compliance with training, continuing education, professional licensure, and certification requirements.
  • Manage data entry and maintenance within the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and reliability of information.
  • Link HR metrics to measurable business outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement within HR functions.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws and regulations; regularly review employee handbooks, policies, and procedures for compliance. Stay informed on HR trends and best practices.
  • May undertake special projects as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing day-to-day HR operations across multiple areas.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local HR-related laws and regulations.
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Understanding of University policies, procedures, and HR systems.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.

  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Successful completion of reference checks.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Work Hours and Location

Standard working hours are generally from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional requirements for evenings and weekends. Schedule may vary with prior notice.
