Job Title: Principal Semiconductor Backside Lead Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Semiconductor Backside Lead Engineer to join our Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) department at Raytheon. As a technical lead, you will be responsible for achieving foundry metrics in the Backside Processing Work Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical lead for a small team to achieve foundry metrics in the Backside Processing Work Center.
  • Support the foundry's production efforts through lot deposition, process sustainment, RCCA, and process improvement activities.
  • Develop, improve, and sustain backside wafer processes including wafer bond and de-bond, wafer thinning, and singulation.
  • Lead capital procurement and qualification efforts as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8 years' of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' of prior work experience.
  • Experience with semiconductor backside processing (e.g., wafer bond and de-bond, wafer thinning, and singulation).
  • Experience developing and/or sustaining semiconductor toolsets and processes.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with III-V compound semiconductor processing and devices (e.g., Gallium Nitride and Gallium Arsenide).
  • Experience in design of experiments and use of statistical data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Experience leading and coordinating project work in a team environment.
  • Experience creating, documenting, maintaining and approving work instructions.
  • Experience training and certifying users on semiconductor processes and equipment.

This position requires a security clearance. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website. The salary range for this role is $96,000 USD - $200,000 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
