Job Summary:

RTX is seeking a highly skilled Principal Semiconductor Backside Lead Engineer to join our Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a small team to achieve foundry metrics in the Backside Processing Work Center. Your expertise in semiconductor backside processing, including wafer bond and de-bond, wafer thinning, and singulation, will be crucial in supporting the foundry's production efforts. You will also be responsible for developing, improving, and sustaining backside wafer processes, as well as leading capital procurement and qualification efforts. This is a 100% on-site role based in Andover, MA, and requires a strong background in semiconductor processing and a proven track record of leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a small team to achieve foundry metrics in the Backside Processing Work Center
• Support the foundry's production efforts through lot deposition, process sustainment, RCCA, and process improvement activities
• Develop, improve, and sustain backside wafer processes, including wafer bond and de-bond, wafer thinning, and singulation
• Lead capital procurement and qualification efforts as they arise
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience
• Experience with semiconductor backside processing, including wafer bond and de-bond, wafer thinning, and singulation
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
• Proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with III-V compound semiconductor processing and devices, such as Gallium Nitride and Gallium Arsenide
• Experience in design of experiments and use of statistical data analysis and statistical process control (SPC)
• Experience leading and coordinating project work in a team environment
• Experience creating, documenting, maintaining, and approving work instructions
• Experience training and certifying users on semiconductor processes and equipment
