Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our team at Breckenridge Independent School District. As a Classroom Teacher, you will be responsible for providing students with a high-quality education and creating a supportive learning environment that fosters academic growth and development.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Strategies
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and materials to engage students and promote academic achievement.
  • Assess student learning styles and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with special needs.
  • Work with colleagues to determine instructional goals and methods.
Student Growth and Development
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
  • Model positive behavior and support the mission of the school district.
Classroom Management and Organization
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes learning and is conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assist in selecting instructional materials and compiling reports and records.
Communication
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
Professional Growth and Development
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Other
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct the work of assigned instructional aides.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Prolonged standing, frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise.
