Job Overview

Vail Resorts is seeking a highly skilled Childcare Assistant Director to join our team at Breckenridge Child Care. This is a year-round, full-time position that requires a strong background in early childhood education and experience in managing childcare programs.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading a team of childcare professionals, developing and implementing educational curriculum, and ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for children. They will also be responsible for supervising daily activities, including retail and recurring guest programs, and maintaining accurate records and files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in coordinating and implementing educational curriculum
  • Lead the Child Care team with ongoing feedback and provide support for teacher development
  • Encourage teaching success through coaching and providing development opportunities
  • Supervise daily activities, including retail and recurring guest programs
  • Assist with personnel management, including payroll, performance appraisals, and disciplinary issues
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents and families
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files
Requirements
  • Currently holds or can attain a Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Level 4 and Large Center Director's Credential
  • Group child care experience, background in guest services, and teaching
  • Proficient in managing labor and expense budgets
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to follow all procedures and guidelines as outlined in the staff manual and employee handbook
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Must clear full background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing curriculum and staff
  • Self-motivator, team builder, organized, and capable of meeting multiple deadlines
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, fosters a team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Infant CPR/First Aid certified
  • Previous experience managing staff and operations at the supervisory level
