Job Title: Medical Technician

DispatchHealth is seeking a skilled Medical Technician to join our team. As a Medical Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare providers in the field.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with physical exams, point-of-care testing, and treatments as directed by our healthcare providers.
  • Collect patient data and vital signs, and communicate effectively with our healthcare providers via messaging and video conference.
  • Facilitate physical exams using a mobile device and conduct diagnostic tests and treatments as requested by our healthcare providers.
  • Provide discharge instructions and ensure that patients receive the care they need to recover at home.
  • Restock and clean equipment at the end of each shift, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • EMT certification with Phlebotomy, or EMT-A in good standing, OR Paramedic OR Medical Assistant OR Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse, as per state regulations.
  • Minimum one (1) year patient-facing experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • BLS, American Heart Association.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easily while carrying equipment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and technological skills.
  • Previous experience with comprehensive history gathering and documentation within an EMR.
  • Previous experience with basic procedural skills.
  • Cultural competency and ability to interact with patients and families, develop rapport and trust, and communicate verbally.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule with evenings, holidays, and weekends required.
