About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Technician to join our team at DispatchHealth Management. As a Medical Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of patients' homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with physical exams, point-of-care testing, treatments, and data gathering in a home healthcare setting.
  • Work at the direction of a virtual DispatchHealth Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop strong organizational and customer service skills to provide exceptional patient experiences.
  • Participate in extensive on-the-job training to enhance your skills and knowledge in delivering hospital-level healthcare in a home setting.
Requirements
  • EMT certification with Phlebotomy, or EMT-A in good standing, OR Paramedic OR Medical Assistant OR Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse, as per state regulations.
  • Minimum one (1) year patient-facing experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • BLS, American Heart Association.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easily while carrying equipment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and technological skills.
  • Previous experience with comprehensive history gathering and documentation within an EMR.
  • Previous experience with basic procedural skills.
  • Cultural competency to interact with patients and families, develop rapport and trust, and communicate verbally.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver care with flexibility and open-mindedness.
  • Continuous learner with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule with evenings, holidays, and weekends required.
