Associate Director, Strategic Accounts

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Strategic Accounts to join our team at Apellis Pharmaceuticals. As a key member of our commercial organization, you will be responsible for managing business relationships with large retina practices and ophthalmology accounts. Your primary focus will be to educate these customers on our ophthalmology portfolio and product access and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ongoing business relationships with retina practices and their leadership.
- Provide marketplace feedback to corporate leadership on customer business trends, competitive programs, and industry issues.
- Build productive relationships and create advocacy for Apellis and our therapies with strategic account business leaders.
- Coordinate pull-through of targeted account initiatives by working closely with sales leadership, reimbursement teams, and other internal partners.
- Deliver effective presentations to key practice decision makers and provide insights on emerging trends and changes to market conditions.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of biotech/pharma commercial experience.
- Retina (ophthalmology) clinic account management experience.
- Demonstrated expertise level knowledge and experience with pharmaceuticals and biologics in a buy and bill environment.
- Strong scientific background and ability to digest and communicate complex scientific data.
