Position Summary:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in this role will deliver a broad spectrum of primary, acute, and specialized healthcare services, working both independently and collaboratively with other healthcare providers, in compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities include managing patient care, prescribing medications, conducting diagnostic tests, and educating patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes clinical expertise to perform health assessments, establish differential diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate treatments.
  • Implements care plans through independent actions and collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring adherence to healthcare policies.
  • Promotes health and manages both acute and chronic conditions, performing physical examinations and preventive measures.
  • Documents patient findings and develops care plans based on individual health needs.
  • Provides referrals to community resources and collaborates with specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintains accurate medical records and mentors nursing staff on best practices.
  • Adheres to unit-specific policies and demonstrates service excellence in all interactions.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates possessing 2 or more years of APRN experience in a correctional setting.

Education:

A Master's degree in Nursing is mandatory.

Licensure and Certifications:
  • Current Florida Advanced Practice RN license is required.
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty area is essential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and any additional life support certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Compliance with all regulatory and professional standards is expected.
