Position Summary:
The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete fleet of primary and secondary vehicles. This role emphasizes enhancing profitability through proficient management of fleet operations and maintenance activities within the designated region, focusing on cost efficiency, managerial development, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the availability of safe and dependable vehicles to meet operational demands.
2. Conduct thorough evaluations of the fleet to maintain high maintenance standards.
3. Supervise maintenance managers to drive performance and cost-effectiveness across the region.
4. Review and approve capital equipment requests in alignment with corporate objectives.
5. Optimize the utilization of vehicle assets.
6. Ensure maintenance facilities are sufficiently staffed and that mechanics receive appropriate training.
7. Oversee the effective use of vehicle management systems.
8. Adhere to and promote the organization's Mission to Zero standards, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
9. Meet all financial review deadlines and corporate program requirements punctually.
10. Assist in the budgeting process as necessary.
11. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.
12. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of maintenance facilities through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
13. Manage departmental personnel needs, including the selection, coaching, and training of staff and maintenance managers, as well as evaluating employee performance.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, or alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of prior experience in a related field is required.
Work Environment:
This position primarily operates in a professional office setting and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
