Guardian Drug Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for the setup, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of equipment used in the production process. This includes wet and dry granulation equipment, fluid bed dryers, coating equipment, tablet presses, capsule filling machines, and capsule banding machines. You will also troubleshoot packaging equipment such as solid, liquid, and powder fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, and blister packing machines.

Your expertise in electrical and electronic components will be essential for diagnosing and resolving issues with these complex systems. A strong understanding of PLCs and their principles is also required. You will work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure that equipment operates at peak performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform setup, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment, including wet and dry granulation equipment, fluid bed dryers, coating equipment, tablet presses, capsule filling machines, and capsule banding machines.
  • Troubleshoot packaging equipment such as solid, liquid, and powder fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, and blister packing machines.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with liquid manufacturing tanks, pumps, motors, and other related systems.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to batch record requirements, quality standards, safety protocols, and all relevant standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams and supervisors, providing updates on equipment status and any issues that arise.
Core Requirements:
  • Minimum of a college degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Expertise in electrical and electronic component verification and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and their principles.
