Job Summary

USI Insurance Services is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our benefits team, you will be responsible for managing employee benefits insurance accounts and services, providing proactive support to clients, and acting as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured clients, including preparation of materials for client meetings and education on compliance topics such as ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and Health Care Reform.
  • Provide personalized support to assigned clients, including setting up new group insurance contracts, managing the renewal process, and implementing and managing programs recommended by technical resources.
  • Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities, and champion client cross-selling initiatives.
  • Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans, and coordinate, manage, and attend client meetings both virtually and in person.
  • Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes, and clarifications, and provide resolution support and oversight for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in the employee benefits industry or related marketplace, with a college degree preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred, and a life and disability insurance license is required.
  • Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products, with the ability to set priorities and manage deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal instruction, keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends, and carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
