About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Department at Summit Design and Engineering Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project deadlines, establishing and maintaining client relationships, and inspiring a high level of performance from the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Plans, develops, and coordinates projects with limited supervision, ensuring timely completion and meeting client expectations.
  • Proposal Development: Understands, reviews, and/or participates in preparing proposals, calculating/reviewing costs and time schedules for proposed work.
  • Team Management: Effectively manages, assigns duties, and schedules to assigned team members, ensuring efficient and effective use of time.
  • Quality Assurance: Checks all technical work for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company QA/QC procedures.
  • Client Relationship Management: Exceeds client expectations, fosters client relationships through collaboration and problem-solving, and communicates project status and updates to clients.
  • Business Development: Maintains existing client relationships, acquires new contacts/clients through attendance at local meetings, workshops, and social events.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: BSCE and Professional Licensure, 5+ years of experience on various site design projects, retail, commercial, and public sector projects.
  • Design Experience: Specific design experience required with site layout, grading, storm drainage, stormwater management, water & sewer utilities, and erosion control.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with technical software including Autodesk Civil 3D 2015 or newer, Hydraflow Storm Sewers/Hydrographs/Express Extensions, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective collaboration skills, and a team player with the willingness to adapt and learn new responsibilities and tasks.
