Job Summary

As a Transmission Utility Forester with ECI, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electric service to the public. You will be responsible for managing vegetation along power lines, identifying potential threats to service, and developing plans to mitigate these risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with utility engineers to identify and prioritize vegetation management projects
  • Develop and implement vegetation management plans for utility easements
  • Conduct site assessments to identify potential vegetation threats to power lines
  • Collaborate with landowners and farmers to develop vegetation management plans for their properties
  • Ensure that tree crews are following proper safety and arboricultural practices and procedures
  • Address customer concerns related to vegetation in and adjacent to utility easements
  • Perform QA/QC inspections on completed vegetation management work
Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Forestry or related field
  • Solid local tree identification skills
  • Ability to read maps and navigate remote areas
  • Willingness to work alone in outdoor field environment
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, smartphones)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-5 years prior UVM, Forestry or related outdoor experience
  • Certification as an ISA Arborist, Registered Forester, or other related certificates/licenses
  • Prior experience using GIS software
