Position Overview

Unit Description:

This position operates on a hybrid work model, typically requiring three days in the office and two days remote, along with ten annual work-from-anywhere days within the U.S. This is in addition to vacation, holidays, and personal time off.

Sodexo is in search of an Accounting Manager to join the Contract Compliance & Licensing division. We are looking for an individual who excels in problem-solving and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the department head by:
  • Engaging in staff recruitment and providing constructive feedback
  • Facilitating training and development for team members (covering technical accounting, accounting systems, and other relevant applications)
  • Participating in performance management discussions and the development of improvement plans
  • Offering insights during employee performance evaluations
  • Managing and adjusting team workloads as necessary
  • Establishing and tracking departmental KPIs
  • Conducting one-on-one reviews of balance sheet account reconciliations with team members
  • Providing guidance and support to staff and segment operations regarding:
  • Complex client contract interpretations across NorAm segments, excluding Government Services
  • Technical aspects of the accounting system, particularly SCAS and client billing
  • Interpretation of IFRS 15 & 16, including SCAS setup requirements and their impact on financial outcomes; maintaining Planon for IFRS 16
  • Internal control protocols and procedures
  • Inflation Price Adjustments (IPA)
  • Contractual Risks and Rewards (R&R)
  • External audits focusing on contract revenue and IFRS 15 & 16
  • Leading the resolution of intricate accounting and contract issues requiring escalation to senior management and tax professionals
  • Collaborating with other departments to identify and resolve issues
  • Overseeing departmental projects and initiatives, including the analysis of systems, processes, and procedures
  • Formulating and implementing departmental policies
  • Representing the department in various company initiatives, providing insights, options, and implementing rollout strategies
  • Co-managing the financial hierarchy within the accounting system for all NorAm segments, excluding Government Services

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
