Mental Health Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Ridgeview Institute Monroe. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing continuous care, supervision, and positive role modeling to patients across various age groups.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately record vital signs and exercise judgment in patient interactions, reporting changes to the Registered Nurse.
- Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision.
- Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques.
- Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene.
- Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.
We are looking for an individual with a High School Degree or equivalent, preferably with Certified Nursing or NAR experience. A degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, psychology, human services, or an appropriate therapeutic discipline is also preferred.
One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and an understanding of mental illness, is preferred. Successful completion of CPR certification and crisis intervention training within 30 days of employment is also required.
