Position Overview:

The Patient Relations Program Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and safety of healthcare services by acting as a primary contact for patients and their families. This role is essential in addressing concerns that span multiple departments, providing answers to inquiries, and empathetically guiding patients through their healthcare journey.

This position is tasked with overseeing the investigation and resolution of patient and family grievances that cannot be settled at the point of care. It is imperative that all grievances are managed in accordance with regulatory standards. Additionally, this role advocates for patients by offering insights into their involvement in care and the processes for reporting safety or care concerns.

The Program Manager will also facilitate performance improvement initiatives and patient safety programs aimed at fostering continuous enhancement in the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison for patient and family concerns, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Lead investigations into complaints and grievances, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to patients regarding their rights and involvement in their care.
  • Coordinate performance improvement efforts and patient safety initiatives to promote high standards of care.
  • Monitor and address regulatory compliance issues related to patient safety and quality improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent qualification in a healthcare-related field.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Windows, Internet, E-mail, Meditech, Microsoft Word, and other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple detailed tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on professional interpersonal interactions.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in roles involving patient interaction and problem resolution.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Must obtain a Notary Public Commission in the State of Texas within 60 days of hire, if applicable.
