Overview:

The Patient Relations Program Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and safety of healthcare services by acting as a dedicated liaison for patients and their families. This position addresses concerns that span multiple departments, ensuring that inquiries are answered, issues are resolved, and patients are compassionately guided throughout their healthcare journey.

This role is pivotal in managing the investigation and resolution of patient and family grievances that cannot be settled at the point of care. It is essential that all grievances are handled in accordance with regulatory standards. Additionally, the Program Manager advocates for patients by providing vital information regarding their involvement in care and the processes for reporting safety or care concerns.

Furthermore, this position is responsible for facilitating performance improvement initiatives and patient safety programs to promote continuous enhancements in the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for patient and family concerns, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Oversee the investigation of complaints and grievances, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Advocate for patient rights and involvement in their care processes.
  • Facilitate performance improvement and patient safety initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Monitor and coordinate responses to regulatory compliance issues related to patient safety and performance improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Texas license, or equivalent experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Proficient in various software applications, including Windows, Meditech, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple detailed tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on problem-solving and diplomacy.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting, with direct interaction and problem-solving responsibilities involving patients and families.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly preferred.
  • Must obtain a Notary Public Commission in the State of Texas within 60 days of hire.
