Position Overview:
The Patient Relations Program Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and safety of healthcare services by acting as a primary liaison for patients and their families. This role involves addressing concerns that span multiple departments, providing answers to inquiries, and compassionately guiding patients through their healthcare journey.
This position is tasked with overseeing the investigation and resolution of patient and family grievances that cannot be settled at the initial point of care. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in grievance handling is a key responsibility. Additionally, the Program Manager advocates for patients by offering insights into their involvement in care and the processes for reporting safety or care issues.
Moreover, this role is instrumental in facilitating performance improvement initiatives and patient safety programs aimed at fostering continuous enhancements in the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main contact for patient and family concerns, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
- Conduct thorough investigations into complaints and grievances, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
- Advocate for patient rights and provide information regarding their care involvement.
- Lead performance improvement projects and patient safety initiatives to promote quality care.
- Monitor and coordinate responses to regulatory compliance issues related to patient safety and performance improvement.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Texas license, or equivalent healthcare qualification.
- Proficient in various software applications including Windows, Meditech, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with office equipment such as fax machines and copiers.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple detailed tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on problem-solving in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to prioritize effectively to meet the needs of patients and families while maintaining confidentiality.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in roles involving patient interaction and problem resolution.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
- Must obtain a Notary Public Commission in the State of Texas within 60 days of hire.
